A Tribute to Drew Lewis
Drew Lewis loved life deeply — especially time spent on the water at Table Rock Lake surrounded by family, friends, sunshine, laughter, and long summer sunsets. He had a natural ability to connect with people, which made him a perfect fit for a career in real estate sales after graduating from the University of Missouri, where he also served as social chairman for Phi Delta Theta. Drew was known for bringing people together, whether through friendship, community, or cooking meals for those he loved — joking that he first learned to cook to impress girls.
In 2012, Drew was diagnosed with colon cancer, and while many describe cancer as a “battle,” Drew fought an all-out war with courage, transparency, and purpose. He chose to publicly share his journey through social media and a Facebook page dedicated to keeping loved ones informed while encouraging others to prioritize their health. Supported tirelessly by his wife Amy and an incredible network of people inspired by his spirit, Drew’s story spread far beyond Springfield, reaching audiences across the country and around the world. Though Drew passed away, his passion for people, hope, and community lives on through the Drew Lewis Foundation and the Dear Drew initiative — continuing his legacy by helping others believe in brighter futures.
